County: CART to relocate animals to 4 Bar S and Hudson Ranches; donations have boosted small emergency budget

The Community Animal Response Team (CART) has been housing livestock at the Fairgrounds following wildfire evacuations and will relocate animals Monday and Tuesday to 4 Bar S Ranch and the Hudson Ranch off Beulah Highway, a county commissioner said. "They're going to be relocating all of those animals up to the 4 Bar S Ranch and the Hudson Ranch off of the Beulah Highway," the commissioner said.
The commissioner said the county at one point cared for about "1,200 animals" and that current numbers are in the low 300s. He noted the CSU Extension budget includes a $1,000 annual line item for emergency animal response and that donor contributions have effectively increased available funds. The county publicly thanked Beth Hayes, the CART volunteers and out‑of‑state helpers who assisted with the animal response.
