Joe Blomquist presented an advertising partnership with the York Athletic Boosters for the district’s digital scoreboards, describing it as a revenue opportunity developed over several months. He said the boosters will help secure advertisers and that proposed ads would be submitted to the board for approval on a regular schedule.
Board members asked about approval timelines, revenue handling, and booster spending authority. A board member emphasized the district's desire to keep revenue local and noted the board’s direction to find ways to use digital scoreboards to support students: "What excites... the most about this partnership is that 100% of the revenues that are generated will benefit our students and our school community," a board speaker said. The board approved the agreement and then approved 12 proposed digital ads for display as an inaugural set.
