At the start of its Oct. 23 special meeting, the Kalkaska County Board of Commissioners voted to waive Article 5, Section M of the Board of Commissioners Bylaws so several items could be considered immediately rather than referred to committee. The motion, made by Commissioner Jeff Sieting and supported by Commissioner Robert Baldwin, passed by roll call 6 yeas, 0 nays, 1 absent.
The items added for immediate review and/or approval were a Sol Good Media quote, a Lamar signage quote, youth equipment purchases, and review of services from MLI/Chet Janik. The waiver cleared the way for the board to take votes on related contracts and purchases during the same special meeting.
