County staff outlines water and equipment grant opportunities, REAP window

Tom Lucas reported several grant opportunities and staff coordination efforts to the board on July 13.
Lucas said the Oklahoma Water Resources Board 2027 REAP application period is open from July 1 through September 1, 2027. He also noted that USDA Rural Development currently has Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants with up to $150,000 available for drinking-water transmission lines and up to $1,000,000 for new wells, treatment plants and similar projects. Lucas said he has coordinated with Quinlan Rural Water District to prepare an equipment grant to the Oklahoma Rural Water Association and that he met with two small businesses considering expansion. The minutes also mention an equipment grant opportunity through the Brother Helping Brothers Foundation for fire departments.
