Decorah explained that most referrals come from lawyers, social workers, and law enforcement, and that Koinonia is not a locked unit—minimum stays are 30 days but clients cannot be physically forced to remain unless detained through court order or third‑party petition. He said the facility employs about 15–16 people and that Ms. Kari Decorah serves as Clinical Director.
