The committee approved hiring two limited‑term employees (LTEs) for the Wisconsin Home Energy Assistance Program (WHEAP) fuel program to begin on Oct. 1, 2026. The motion, made by Mr. Dan Hess and seconded by Ms. Mary Roth Burns, specified 700 hours per LTE at Grade F with a starting wage of $18.73; the total projected cost for both positions in 2026 is $28,774. Committee materials state these positions are 100% funded by the Wisconsin Department of Administration, Division of Energy, Housing and Community Resources and would carry no county tax levy cost.
The department also proposed moving WHEAP supervision from the Economic Support unit to Financial Services to reflect program policy changes and staffing turnover in the consortium. Committee members approved the hiring motion without opposition.
