Michael Patton, Riverbank’s director of parks and recreation, gave the annual report on the city’s facility fee-waiver policy approved on May 27, 2025. Patton said staff had authority to waive up to $7,500 in facility fees and that the department granted $6,710 in the last fiscal year, mostly to events open to the public such as fundraisers and the Juneteenth celebration.
Patton said one applicant — a private sports organization seeking exclusive use — was denied because the request would not have been open to the public. He told council staff recommends no changes at this time and that the policy will be reviewed after three years of implementation. Council had no substantive changes and thanked staff for the update.
