Human Services staff presented several recommended adjustments for the 2027 county budget at the June 15 meeting. Ms. Heidi Chavez outlined four decision items: maintain a $15,000 county levy line for Tri‑County Council on Domestic Violence (a non‑mandated service), reduce the Supportive Home Care levy by $5,000 based on 2026 spending projections, increase the Juvenile/Children & Families county levy by $10,380 to align with three‑year averages and state match requirements, and cut the Crisis Respite Child Care levy by $500.
Ms. Chavez said estimated spending for Supportive Home Care is $20,473.31 in 2026 based on current authorized funding and proposed the additional Juvenile/Children & Families levy to provide match for variable state allocations. Committee members signaled support for including these line items in the 2027 budget packet; Chair Jensen indicated he would forward out‑of‑home placement budgeting concerns to the Executive Committee chair for further consideration.
