Charles City sets Logic & Accuracy test and early-voting schedule for April 14 referendum

The Charles City County Electoral Board confirmed logistics for a writ special election on April 14, 2026 that will include a local referendum on restructuring the Board of Supervisors. Deputy III Dr. Sharon Davis presented a task schedule for the referendum; staff set a Logic & Accuracy test for Feb. 12, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at the Registrar's Office on The Glebe Lane.
Chief Deputy Lisa A. Cosby told the Board that absentee and election-day ballots have been ordered but had not yet arrived; staff expected to receive the ballots later in the week and planned to mail absentee ballots the same day. Early voting for the April 14 referendum is scheduled to begin Friday, Feb. 27, 2026, with office hours listed at 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
The Board also approved contracting consultant services to support upcoming elections, including the April 14 referendum. Deputy Davis said she will provide an updated calendar of important dates to the Board and staff.
