Council approves $30,235.63 in additional repairs to town Caterpillar D6 dozer

Town Manager Suzanne Harvey told the council that when staff disassembled the Caterpillar D6 final drive they discovered both sides needed replacement, increasing the repair cost by $30,235.63. "It is an additional $30,000, that is our D6. It's a critical piece of equipment. We also just paid it off, so we need to do the repair," Harvey said, explaining the urgency and fiscal context.
Council discussed the need to keep the machine in service for public works operations and approved the additional repairs in a motion moved by Johann Wallace and seconded by Christy Hirshberg; the minutes record the motion passed unanimously.
