ST. JAMES, Minn. — Watonwan County on April 7 adopted the Blue Earth River Watershed Comprehensive Watershed Management Plan after notification from the Minnesota Board of Water and Soil Resources that the plan was approved under Minnesota Statutes §103B.801.
The resolution requires local units of government within the Plan area to submit their existing water and related land resources plans and official controls to the county within 90 days for review. The county will identify inconsistencies and recommend measures to bring local plans into conformity within 180 days; local units may appeal county recommendations to the Board of Water and Soil Resources. The resolution states the county will amend existing local plans and official controls as necessary to conform with the approved watershed plan.
