County staff report safety training, federal grant opportunities and local assistance to Sharon

Kelly Witchey announced a safety meeting with Forestry and the Association of County Commissioners of Oklahoma (ACCO) scheduled July 21 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; Tom Lucas reported that the U.S. Department of Transportation Pipeline & Hazardous Materials Safety Administration lists six grant opportunities (including Hazardous Materials Emergency Preparedness and ALERT programs) and noted the High Plains RC&D annual meeting on July 15 from noon to 3:00 p.m.
Bailey Kafka asked Commissioner T. White about using his fogging machine to control flies in county event center buildings; T. White said he would look into it. Chairman Clint White also informed the board that District #2 is assisting the Town of Sharon with tearing down a building in the right‑of‑way on Trotter Street in Sharon, Oklahoma. The board approved a bridge inspection invoice of $290.41 for all three districts and approved Purchase Order Batch 120; these administrative items were handled without extended discussion.
