Committee member Joe Laurin told the group the county's radio back-up procedure was updated last summer as a temporary fix and now needs a broader revision to include additional users such as taxi and highway services. Laurin recommended forming a subcommittee to rewrite the procedure.
Shawn Anderson provided an overview of the county repeaters during the discussion. Bill Rice recommended that Shawn Anderson, Joe Laurin, Bobby Kaslick of Ozaukee Central Fire Department, and a law enforcement representative be named to the subcommittee to ensure representation from radio services, fire, and law enforcement.
