Park Board: Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail Segment D will require 8 acres of tree clearing; bids to be sought

Park Director Joseph Tart told the Chisago County Park Board that the Swedish Immigrant Regional Trail Segment D project will proceed to tree clearing on 8 acres and that the county will put the clearing work out for bid. "Tree clearing 8 acres," Tart said, and he added that staff will notify nearby residents because of the potential for low impacts to private property.
Tart also reviewed remaining items from the 2025 Capital Improvement Plan and reported that steel renovations to the Parks Maintenance Facility had been completed. The update framed immediate next steps for Segment D as contracting and resident notification; no formal vote or funding appropriation was recorded at the Jan. 15 meeting.
