Commissioners accepted a proposal from Calderwood Engineering to provide preliminary engineering and design services for replacing the Upper Sandy Stream Bridge in Lexington Township. David Spencer told the board Calderwood was the only respondent to the RFP, and commissioners noted that the project has been under consideration for several years.
Commissioner discussion confirmed that more detailed cost estimates will follow the engineering study. Spencer said there are sufficient funds in the unorganized territory capital road/bridge account to pay for the study (over $120,000). The board voted 5-0 to accept the proposal and directed staff to proceed with the engineering contract phase and return with cost estimates.
