Board recommends two nominees to the Board of Equalization

The Board recommended RoseMarie Kearns and Richard Rogowski for appointment to the Board of Equalization and will forward those recommendations to the Circuit Court; the motion passed 6-0.
Assistant County Administrator Regina Harner reviewed applications for the Board of Equalization and recommended RoseMarie Kearns and Richard Rogowski for appointment. Supervisor Jeff Vaughan moved "that Page County Board of Supervisors recommend to the Circuit Court the appointment of RoseMarie Kearns and Richard Rogowski to the Board of Equalization," Supervisor Ryan Cubbage seconded, and the motion carried 6-0.
Harner told the Board that the Board of Equalization hears appeals from taxpayers regarding real property assessments following general reassessment and that appointees must attend a Department of Taxation basic course of instruction to be eligible. If appointed by the Circuit Court, the term will expire one year after the effective date of the assessment for which they were appointed.
