At its Jan. 6, 2026 organizational meeting in Woodstock, the Shenandoah County Board of Supervisors elected Supervisor Tim Taylor to serve as chairman and confirmed Vice Chairman Dennis Morris as vice chairman in separate roll-call votes.
Supervisor David Ferguson nominated Tim Taylor for chairman; with no other nominations, Supervisor Steve Baker moved to appoint Taylor, and the motion carried by roll-call vote, 5–1. Later, Supervisor Mark Dotson nominated David Ferguson for vice chairman, who declined the nomination. Supervisor Steve Baker then nominated Dennis Morris for vice chairman; Baker moved to appoint Morris and the motion passed by roll-call vote, 5–1. The minutes record one abstention in each leadership vote and five recorded "aye" votes on each motion.
