Administrator outlines budget-caucus schedule, flags Lake Moxie ATV hearing for next meeting

County Administrator Tim Curtis briefed the Board on the process to fill vacancies on the County Budget Committee via municipal caucuses. He listed the District 1 caucus on Wednesday, Jan. 21 at the Norridgewock Select Board meeting at 6:00 p.m.; District 2 caucus on Monday, Jan. 26 prior to the Madison Select Board meeting at 6:00 p.m.; and District 4 caucus on Tuesday, Jan. 27 at the Skowhegan Select Board meeting at 6:00 p.m.
Curtis also reminded the board that the next meeting will include a public hearing to take comment on an application from the Lake Moxie ATV Club to allow ATV access on Lake Moxie Road in The Forks. In departmental updates, Finance Director Patrick Dolan released the budget review schedule (Budget Meeting set for 9:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4), and noted the switch to Cigna health insurance effective Feb. 1. Register of Deeds Tanya Belanger said transfer tax and fee changes took effect Jan. 1 and her office will close Feb. 2 to install new software.
The minutes record routine administrative scheduling and several department operational notes; no formal action was taken on these announcements at the Jan. 7 meeting.
