Edgren reported that he and Sheriff Knowles opposed converting the intersection to a four‑way stop, citing "poor stopping sight distance" and the downhill grade on northbound CTH E. The committee discussed alternatives including lowering the northbound speed limit, adding a cautionary 45 MPH sign and the flashing intersection warning sign; the committee approved the flashing sign as the selected near‑term measure.
The minutes record that the flashing sign installation was approved and that Supervisor Vogel was excused at the time of the final recorded aye votes. Staff will implement the sign installation and report back on any further recommended changes.
