The applicants told the board they currently live in Columbus, Georgia and said they could not afford to build a site-built house; they said they would set the mobile home on a concrete slab.
Neighbor Mark Henson spoke in opposition, saying he had "nothing against the Spillers" personally but was concerned that mobile homes can depreciate and, when abandoned, make the county look "ugly." Planning and Zoning provided a recommendation of approval and the minutes note that the parcel is zoned R‑R and that the application satisfied the planning checklist; the public hearing was adjourned with the record left open to the commission for decision at a subsequent agenda item.
