The Commission approved a conditional use permit allowing the replacement of a deteriorated stick‑built house with a mobile home at 109 Nelson St.
Applicant Sierra Smith told the board the existing house is unsafe, with roof and mold issues, and she does not have means to rebuild. Planning & Zoning recommended approval conditioned on removal of the existing structure and compliance with applicable building, flood and zoning codes as well as health‑department requirements. County Manager Thomas Weaver advised Ms. Smith to confirm health‑department setbacks and approvals before committing to a purchase or installation of a replacement unit.
The board closed the hearing on Feb. 24 and approved the CUP at the Feb. 27 called meeting. The approval is conditioned on the removal of the current structure and passing required inspections and permits.
