Angie Livesay, Deputy Assistant County Administrator, told the Board that the county animal shelter recorded 39 dog adoptions in March, including 11 adoptions on the prior Saturday. She said 37 dogs were currently on site and that Volunteer Orientation is scheduled for the coming Saturday.
Commissioner Painter thanked Livesay and commended her for the work she has done running the shelter. County Administrator Tom Eigel said he attended an animal‑shelter staff meeting the prior day and described it as positive. The Board took no formal action; the update was informational and highlighted volunteer recruitment and adoption activity.
