County proclaims April Child Abuse Awareness Month; prosecutor highlights prevention event

Dorothy Meier, Director of the Clermont County Department of Job and Family Services, accepted the child‑abuse proclamation on behalf of county child‑protective staff.
Meier told the Board the issue "affects children and families" and urged the community to support prevention and protective services. Clermont County Prosecutor Mark Tekulve said the county will hold a Pinwheels for Prevention ceremony at 2:00 p.m. to raise awareness and encourage coordination among the Sheriff's Office, the Prosecutor's Office and the Mayerson Center. The Board's proclamations do not create new programs but formally recognize county‑level awareness efforts and related events.
