"Whenever I see a contract come before the commissioner's desk for more than about 5 or 10, I usually a red flag pops up," Jonathan said.
Commissioners asked staff to gather comparative data from surrounding counties (pricing, terms and vendor fees), to consider a shorter initial contract (one to two years), and to confirm which campsite types are included (primitive sites vs. trailer sites). Commissioners expressed a preference to keep county staff responsible for grounds oversight while outsourcing only the reservation platform if a vendor is used. Staff will return with proposed contract revisions and benchmarking information.
