The Bertie County Board of Commissioners voted on Sept. 29 to accept the county’s annual Older Americans Act contract administered through Mid‑East and to provide a local match of $1,219.
“...the federal state dollars include $3,657, and then we have a match of 1,219,” a county staff member said during the work session presentation. Commissioner Robinson moved to accept the contract and supply the local match; the motion was seconded and approved by voice vote.
County staff said approving the contract will allow service providers to receive and distribute the grant dollars for aging services. No amendments were made to the contract language during the meeting. The board handled the item as a routine budget/contract approval and took the vote during the morning session.
