Board rejects EMA vehicle purchase but approves hiring deputy emergency management director

Separately, commissioners voted unanimously to authorize hiring Sabrina Ferranti as Deputy Emergency Management Director (Resolution 25-196). The motion to hire was moved by Commissioner Scott Seekins, seconded by Commissioner Joel Stetkis, and carried 4-0. Director Smith also reported interviews had produced a candidate willing to start in December.
Commissioners did not adopt an alternative vehicle procurement plan during the meeting; staff were directed to record the failed motion and proceed with personnel hiring steps for the new deputy position.
