At a Nov. 5 meeting, Somerset County commissioners approved a grant to the Town of Jackman to assist the Jackman/Moose River Fire Department with replacement fire trucks. UT Coordinator David Spencer had recommended a $300,000 total package, split $200,000 from Community Benefit funds and $100,000 from UT TIF funds, down from an initial $500,000 request previously presented by Chief Bill Jarvis.
The commission approved Resolution 25-189 on a 4-0 vote (motion by Commissioner John Alsop; second by Commissioner Joel Stetkis). The funding allocation was recorded as $200,000 from Community Benefit and $100,000 from UT TIF to support the vehicle purchase.
