Commissioners accept $85,450 net bid for jail work truck and approve purchase of two police F-150s for $81,900

Under capital expenditures the commission accepted a bid from Hight Ford (Skowhegan) for a 2026 Ford F450 with a dump body and plow to serve the Somerset County Jail. The record shows a gross bid of $95,450 less a $10,000 trade value for a net county cost of $85,450; the acceptance was captured in Resolution 25-161 and carried 4-0.
Commissioners also approved buying two leftover Ford F150 police-package trucks for a net combined cost of $81,900 under Resolution 25-162. Commissioner Joel Stetkis asked about the discount from sticker price and County Administrator Tim Curtis said it was approximately $6,500. Both motions carried 4-0. Staff were directed to proceed with purchase and capital-fund allocation as recorded in the meeting minutes.
