The Hanover County Council on Aging issued its meeting packet for Feb. 9, 2026, restating its mission "to work in partnership with other agencies and resources to improve the quality of life for senior citizens and their families." The packet lists upcoming events and asks members and community volunteers to help plan and staff them.
Council materials identify dates and venues for several spring events and flag specific volunteer needs: Finding Value in Your Prime on May 14, 2026, at Fairmount Christian Church; the Spirit of Volunteerism Awards on April 9 at Atlee High School; an Older Americans Regional Luncheon on May 15 at Beulah Rec Center; and a Centenarian Celebration on May 21 at Covenant Woods. The packet also calls for a team to build the timeline and plan the annual Caregiver Expo.
The packet instructs members that announcements should be submitted prior to meetings and notes that Vice Chair Artrianna Morris will lead the March 9 meeting. The Council urged volunteers for greeting, set-up and clean-up roles and identified a specific need for one volunteer at the Community Resources/DASH table at the May 15 luncheon.
The next Council meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m., with Vice Chair Artrianna Morris slated to lead that session.
