Council worksession forms Age Well Hanover four-session education series

The Hanover County Council on Aging moved into a worksession at about 3:40 p.m. on Feb. 9 to form a planning team for a four-session education series called Age Well Hanover.
Members decided to recruit sponsorship for each session and secure four venues. Proposed topics include brain health for June (aligned with Brain Health Month), hurricane and storm preparedness in July — prompted by concerns about shortages and physical challenges during the most recent winter/ice storm — and an August lunch-and-learn to be hosted by the SPAN Center.
The worksession emphasized logistics: dates will be determined by venue availability and sponsors will be sought to underwrite sessions. The Council did not take a formal vote during the worksession; it agreed to reconvene planning in a future meeting and assign volunteers to the project team.
