He also said the annual audit raised issues that require going back over prior audits before finalizing the current audit.
The session included a briefing on HB 581 (referred to in notes as "FLOST"). Weaver and attendee Alan Horniday explained that FLOST would create three selectable sales‑tax buckets (education, transportation and a "freeze" option), that a referendum would be required and counties must opt in, and that the measure could benefit homesteaded properties. The work session assigned follow‑up for public‑hearing scheduling and continued review of agenda items for the Oct. 1 regular meeting.
