County Manager Thomas Weaver told the board during the April 28 work session that solid-waste costs have risen and recommended a $2 monthly increase in the county's trash fee. "My recommendation is to increase the trash rates $2.00," Weaver said; the change would raise the current $20 monthly fee to $22.
Commissioners asked staff to add the item to the May agenda and to include comparative information on neighboring counties' rates. No vote was taken at the work session; staff was directed to provide a formal proposal and public-notice language if the commission chooses to proceed.
