Commission appoints three members to Board of Elections

At its Dec. 3 meeting, the Unified Government of Cusseta–Chattahoochee County Board of Commissioners approved three appointments to the Board of Elections. The commission adopted resolutions appointing Nancy Hoard to a term from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2028; Valerie Lassiter to a term from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2026; and Crystal Walker to a term from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2028.
Commissioners moved and seconded each appointment in turn. Commissioner Biddle made the motion to appoint Nancy Hoard; Commissioner Frost seconded other motions. The minutes record that Commissioner Biddle recused himself on one of the votes where noted; otherwise the votes were recorded as unanimous. The appointments transfer statutory duties related to voter registration, election conduct and absentee balloting to the newly appointed board members starting in January.
