Andrea Simental, Gardena’s community library manager, used the council’s oral communications period on July 28 to announce summer programming and services at Gardena and Masao Sato libraries.
Simental said the Summer Discovery program runs through Aug. 9 and invited residents to register online or in person. She outlined a free lunch program for youth ages 18 and under at Gardena Library (Tues.–Fri., noon–1 p.m. through Aug. 7) and listed upcoming events: BubbleMania (July 29, 3–4 p.m.), Kinetic Sculptures (Aug. 8, 2–3 p.m.), the Ability Alliance Club (Aug. 13, 10:15–11:15 a.m.), Smarty Pants Storytime at Masao Sato Library (Aug. 4, 11–11:30 a.m.) and Play & Explore for ages 0–4 (Aug. 7, 11–11:30 a.m.).
Simental provided registration and program details and reminded families that lunch at the library is free and that no registration is required for the lunch program. She closed by thanking the council for the opportunity to share library offerings with the community.
