On April 13 the New Plymouth School District Board recessed into executive session under Idaho Code Section 74-206(1)(b) "to consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public-school student." The motion to enter executive session was made by Trustee Jared Kovick and seconded by Trustee Matt Cox; roll call showed four ayes and the board entered executive session at 7:53 p.m. The public meeting resumed at 9:00 p.m.
Following the closed session, trustees voted (motion by Jared Kovick, seconded by Jeremy Howard) to follow the Superintendent’s recommendation regarding Employee D. The motion carried unanimously; the minutes do not disclose the substance of the personnel matter because it was discussed in executive session as authorized by state law.
The board then adjourned at 9:02 p.m. Per Idaho law, personnel deliberations in executive session are confidential; the minutes record only the board’s procedural compliance and the public outcome.
