Board adopts flexible budget guidance for FY27 after public comment on kindergarten funding

The motion, made by Trustee Jared Kovick and seconded by Trustee Jeremy Howard, passed unanimously.
During public comment before the vote, Cherry Meckert urged the board to "return Kindergarten to a half day since that is what the district gets funded for." Superintendent Wade Wilson had previously reviewed district financials at the meeting and noted legislative developments affecting K–12 funding, including that certificated staff will be allowed to move with experience on the career ladder while classified and administrative staff will not see pay increases this session.
