Staff also identified a needed replacement of an outdated elementary fire-alarm control panel (parts no longer available, estimated roughly $40,000), replacement of outdoor pole lighting and parking-lot fixtures, continued blind replacements across campus, purchase of a multipurpose utility vehicle with plow/sander attachments and a multi-year project to replace interior doors, which staff said could be expensive.
Staff noted the capital-improvement planning process: the Capital Improvement Planning Committee reviews and recommends projects to Town Meeting; if approved, funds would typically be available July 1. Quotes submitted to Town Hall include a 10% buffer to account for potential price increases and supply-chain changes. The committee did not vote to change the list but asked staff to continue to refine quotes and narrative for town review.
