School committee approves appointment of Anne Marie Luster as director of student services

Superintendent Mark Branko presented advocacy letters and a recommendation to remove the interim title for Anne Marie Luster and begin contract negotiations for the director of student services position. Branko said Luster has “done a remarkable job in a really quick amount of time” and that the leadership team, along with state coaching support, has helped her transition into the role.
The chair asked for a motion; a motion was made, seconded, and the committee voted in favor by voice ('Aye'). Branko thanked staff and noted there is “a lot of work to do.” The appointment is contingent on successful contract negotiations with the superintendent and will be finalized after those negotiations.
