At the April 9 meeting the Grayson County Board of Supervisors approved several appointments and heard multiple administrative announcements.
Supervisor C.S. “Sandy” Cunningham moved to appoint Elizabeth “Betsy” Shearin (Wilson District) to the Board of Zoning Appeals for a five‑year term; Supervisor Paul G. Richardson seconded and the motion passed 5-0. The Board also approved requested Emergency Services Commission representatives for Troutdale Fire (Baker Martin primary, Mike Leake alternate) and Troutdale Rescue (Judy Arnold primary, Dawn Leake alternate). The Economic Development Authority appointment for Timmy Dixon was tabled until the next meeting.
County Administrator Stephen A. Boyer reported that VDOT has received signs for the Jeremy Hall Memorial Bridge and that the county will schedule a dedication ceremony; he also announced a Household Hazardous Waste Collection and Personal Document Shredding event on April 11, 2026, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Public Works Department and reminded the Board of a budget work session on April 16 at 3 p.m.
