The Grayson County Board of Supervisors approved a resolution April 9 endorsing submission of a Smart Scale candidate project for a turn‑lane improvement at Route 89 (Skyline Highway) and Route 618 (Mount Vale Road).
Director Jada Black said the county previously submitted the project in 2024 and the application was scored out; she said the county now has a better chance and therefore supports re‑submission. The resolution approves the county—s submission by the April 1, 2026 candidate pre‑application deadline and the August 1, 2026 full‑application deadline.
The Board voted 5-0 to support the application and encouraged state transportation officials to fund the project if it scores favorably.
