Miramar Commission Seeks Workshop to Nail Down Costs, Security and Programming

By the end of the session commissioners had coalesced around a single next step: a focused workshop to define the Miramar Innovation Center/incubator and departmental allocations. Vice Mayor Coburn said there was "full consensus for a workshop" and asked staff to keep the commission updated beyond an initial presentation.
City Manager Dr. Virgin confirmed staff will return with a workshop presentation covering technology/security requirements, design, and options to divide the space. He told the commission: "We expect a good discussion, and we have one. We'll come back with the workshop on the technology innovation center and to look at how we can divvy up the space." Commissioners asked that staff include realistic timelines for staff relocation, IT/security gating and potential revenue models in their follow-up materials. The commission then adjourned the public workshop and moved to an executive session.
