County OKs Motz engineering contract for Heritage HVAC and authorizes $2,000 juvenile facility change order

Clermont County approved a $62,000 professional services contract with Motz Engineering to design an HVAC replacement at the Heritage Building and authorized a $2,000 change order for additional drainage-related design services on the Juvenile Detention Facility, increasing that contract to $136,000 and adding 180 days.
The Board on April 16 executed a professional services contract with Motz Consulting Engineers, Inc., dba Motz Engineering, for design services to replace HVAC components at the Heritage Building at a cost not to exceed $62,000. During discussion, Commissioner Painter asked which component would be replaced; Mr. Marshall said the cooling tower and piping would be replaced.
The Board also authorized Change Order Number 1 to Motz's existing professional services contract for the Juvenile Detention Facility. The change order adds $2,000 for additional site storm drainage design services and extends the contract term by 180 days, resulting in a total contract price to date of $136,000. Mr. Marshall said a new chiller pad and drainage downspouts will be required for the Juvenile Detention Facility work.
