The City Commission approved temporary resolution 8494, which adopts the five‑year Capital Improvement Program (CIP) for FY2026–2030 in principle and authorizes the FY2026 capital budget. Liz Valera introduced the package and CIP manager John Magarone said the FY2026 plan includes 56 projects, 13 of them new, with a proposed FY26 allocation of $87,100,000 and a five‑year estimate of about $332.7 million.
Magarone explained that three project adjustments drove a small increase from the proposed CIP: $75,000 added to Building Renovations and Enhancements for an assessment and forecast, $9,900 for HR office furniture and fixtures, and $195,000 to roadway landscaping along Southwest 172nd Avenue. He said capital grants, utility and stormwater funds account for the majority of FY26 CIP funding. The resolution passed unanimously.
The adopted plan funds a large set of infrastructure and facility projects, and staff noted project details and funding sources are in the CIP binder distributed to commissioners. The commission asked staff to proceed with the projects and to continue providing project‑level detail as designs and contracts move forward.
