After a public hearing called at 11:00 a.m., the Clermont County Board of Commissioners voted unanimously to adopt Resolution Number 044-25, determining to vacate a 353-foot portion of Glen Este-Withamsville Road in Union Township under Ohio Revised Code Section 5553.04. Gael Fawley, Clerk, noted the legal notice ran in the Clermont Sun and that no one appeared to testify and no written correspondence was received.
Craig Risner, Deputy Surveyor with the Clermont County Engineer, told the Board the vacation is part of the Aicholtz Road Roundabouts (CLE-CR3) improvement project and said that the proposed vacation “will reduce the Union Township mileage reimbursed by the State of Ohio Department of Transportation by 0.067 miles and will not create any landlocked parcels.” He also reported that public utilities, specifically Clermont County Water Resources, exist within the area and that the county will retain rights for construction ingress and egress for sewer and water utilities.
Why it matters: The resolution removes a small segment of roadway from the county mileage while preserving utility corridors and access, enabling the roundabout project to proceed. The addition of Resolution 044-25 to the regular session agenda was approved by the Board and adopted by roll call (Batchler, Corcoran, Painter voting Yes).
