Duke Energy presents grant to Clermont County 911, county accepts $6,000 donation

The Board of County Commissioners on April 16 accepted a $6,000 grant award from The Duke Energy Foundation for use by the Clermont County Department of Public Safety Services. The Board adopted Resolution Number 040-25 by unanimous vote to add the donation to the department's 2025 appropriations and directed management to use the funds as appropriated.
Chad Shaffer of Duke Energy's Government Community Relations team presented the grant and thanked county officials for their public safety initiatives. Shaffer told the Board that line workers were unable to attend the meeting due to mandatory training and that they will participate in National Line Workers Appreciation Day activities at the Newport Southbank (Purple People) Bridge on April 18. The presentation also included a ceremonial proclamation designating April 16 as National Line Workers Appreciation Day in Clermont County.
