Public commenters urge town halls and criticize 'DOGE' spending plan; call for clearer communication

During public participation Chris Hicks of Cincinnati read an "honor pledge," handed copies to the Clerk and criticized the Board's refusal to sign. Hicks also proposed a Department of Government Efficiency ("DOGE") to reduce county spending and said, "Commissioner Painter is a coward and the Board only acts like Trump Republicans when they need you to get votes."
Julie Tolliver of Batavia Township addressed the Board about communication and community planning. She warned that the proposed changes could increase homelessness in Clermont County and urged the Board to hold a series of regular town halls so officials can "communicate revised plans, field questions and input from constituents." Tolliver said reliance on Facebook as the primary public communications channel is inadequate and asked for more in-person discourse and clearer plans so residents can plan their lives.
