The board handled a series of routine business items and votes that the staff presented as consent or near-consent items.
Key approvals on roll call included renewal of Child Fatality Prevention Act and Maternal and Child Health grants; renewal of a clinical education agreement with the University of Colorado Colorado Springs to host nursing students; authorization for the sheriff's office to apply for a backcountry search-and-rescue grant (see separate item); approval of an amendment to a Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment contract for public-health preparedness; a professional services agreement with the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (approximately $33,000 over the contract period); a special-event permit for Paradox Beer Company to hold a fundraiser on 08/16/2026; release of retainage to Page Construction for the Teller County Fairgrounds project at 88.13% completion; and ratification of change order number 014 (wet tap, roughly $3,300) for the central service center contract. Each motion was seconded and approved on roll call by the three commissioners present.
Several items included brief staff notes: the animal shelter is undergoing a financial audit and receives building support from the county; the CDPHE amendment supports preparedness activities; and the capital fund balance is sufficient to finish the divide service center. No items were tabled; the board adjourned at 10:51 a.m.
