HUNTSVILLE — Huntsville town leaders, economic committee members and county development staff met March 26 at the Huntsville Mercantile to review a draft strategic approach for local economic development and to discuss how the town can raise revenue without increasing taxes.
Tommy Christie, chair of the Town Economic Committee, opened the work session with a recap of three previous meetings and a summary of the committee’s vision for maintaining economic independence and helping local businesses. Weber County Economic Development Director Stephanie Russell reviewed a Development Project Flowchart that lists steps from visioning and studies through finance, implementation, a designated project manager and ongoing tracking and reporting. No formal votes were recorded in the minutes; the meeting ended at 8:15 p.m.
