Planning panel recommends Wangsgard parcel consolidation, urges applicants to resolve fines and survey issues

The Huntsville Planning Commission voted June 18 to recommend consolidation of five Wangsgard parcels to the Town Council, while advising the applicants to pursue town-level approvals and to address fines that arose after county filings.
The Huntsville Town Planning Commission on June 18 recommended that the Town Council approve a consolidation of five parcels held by members of the Wangsgard family (parcels 24-018-0049, -0050, -0051, -0054 and -0055). Chairman Allen Endicott told the applicants the process had been started "backwards," and explained that the commission provides a recommendation while final approval rests with the Town Council.
Clark Wangsgard appeared with Brent and Jeff Wangsgard and questioned fines the town had imposed for an earlier subdivision filing made first with Weber County. Town Council liaison Sandy Hunter and Chairman Endicott explained that prior filings with the county without first seeking town approval triggered the violation and that the owners should discuss fines and possible forgiveness with the town recorder and mayor. The commission unanimously voted to recommend approval to the Town Council; the application materials on file include the parcel consolidation form and signatures (see attached application). The commission’s vote does not itself remove any outstanding fines or vest building rights; final platting and recording steps remain subject to county recording and any council conditions.
