Planning commission approves Osthed parcel consolidation for single-family home

The Huntsville Town Planning Commission on Aug. 26 recommended approval of a parcel consolidation request from Adam Osthed that will combine parcel numbers 240140051 and 240140052 into a single lot to accommodate one future single-family home.
Osthed told the commission the consolidation is intended to allow better placement of a contemplated residence, and that parcel 240140052 currently lacks independent building rights. Commissioner Liz Poulter moved to recommend approval and Commissioner John Henderson seconded; the commission recorded unanimous support with all votes "Aye." The commission’s recommendation is advisory and will go to the Town Council for final action.
The parcel consolidation application materials filed with the town state the Osthed property will not increase the number of dwelling units on the combined lot and that the new lot must conform to Huntsville’s R‑1 zone standards, including the minimum lot size of 0.75 acre and required setbacks. The application lists the applicant mailing address as 436 Dairy Lane, Draper, Utah and includes a legal description prepared for recording.
